Silver Eagles without a mint mark are typically bullion versions, are produced in large quantities for investment purposes. These coins are intentionally left without a mint mark to distinguish them from proof or uncirculated collector versions, which do have mint marks. If your Silver Eagle is a bullion coin, its lack of a mint mark is standard and not an error.
